Solmar Consulting and Korkia plan a solar power park in Lappeenranta
Solmar Consulting Oy and Korkia Oy are planning a utility-scale solar power park to the Mäkelä, Penttilä and Sunila areas in Lappeenranta, Finland. The planned project area covers about 100 hectares. The total capacity of the solar power park will be 60–70 MW, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of around 3500 electrically heated detached houses.
The project has been prepared together with landowners, and land lease agreements have been signed for the planned project area. In addition, the project is being advanced in good cooperation with the city of Lappeenranta and electricity grid company Fingrid.
During the summer and fall of 2025, environmental, archaeological, stormwater, soil, and landscape surveys will be conducted in the project area to assess its suitability for the solar power project. The preparation of construction permit application will begin in fall 2025, and the potential construction schedule will be clarified as the project progresses.
